22 июня британская виртуальная группа Gorillaz выпустила новую песню Cracker Island. Тема композиции — некий фантазийный культ, воспевающий утопические идеи. Перевод песни — см.ниже. Танцевальный трек должен попасть в восьмой студийный альбом Gorillaz, выход которого запланирован на 2022 год. 
Название альбома пока точно не известно. Возможно, одно из этих двух названий: «The Static Channel» (Статичный канал) или «The Last Cult».
«The Last Cult» (Последний культ) — это название некой организации, которую продвигает группа. Ее рисованный персонаж бассист Murdoc Niccals является само-провозглашенным Великим Лидером Культа.

В состав группы входят рисованные персонажи: басист Мердок Никколс, барабанщик Рассел Хоббс, гитаристка Noodle и солист — клавишник 2-D. Группа была основана в 1998 г. Blur Деймоном Албарном и художником комиксов Джейми Хьюлеттом.
Gorillaz — это целая вымышленная вселенная. Вокруг рисованных персонажей группы создан целый мир комиксов.
Thundercat — псевдоним известного американского бас-гитариста и певца Стивена Ли Брунера, который был приглашен для работы над новым синглом.
